The 'Make in India' brand will very soon be comparable to the best in the world, says Ved S. Chhabra, chairman and MD of Inter Ocean Ship Repairs.

Sharing his experience in the shipping business, Chhabra says ships built in China have to incur additional insurance premium. "I hope it doesn't happen in India and our ships are built to world class specifications."

Inter Ocean Ship Repairs started operations in Dubai in 1991. The company has been involved in the ship repairing business for 25 years. The company is building a new shipyard, around 150km from Mumbai. This is expected to add to India's shipbuilding capabilities.

"NRIs have treated the UAE as their home. The UAE has been most willing to give a chance to all NRIs to grow to their own capacity. Ultimately, most people who have achieved some element of success will have to deploy the money earned here in India," adds Chhabra.
