Metito and Target get $20m contract in Oman

DUBAI - Metito, one of the leaders in waste water treatment and desalination technologies and Target LLC (Oman), a specialised civil construction company have won a $ 20 million contract to provide a comprehensive sewerage system for the residents of Ibra Town in the Sultanate of Oman. This project is being undertaken on behalf of Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources.

The massive project will include the construction of a sewerage network and upgradation and expansion of the existing sewage treatment plant in the historic Omani town.

The sewerage network will involve laying 78 kilometres of GRP, HDPE and uPVC pipelines and it is anticipated that the project will be completed and fully operational by April 2005.

Metito (Overseas) limited commercial manager, Mohammed Wehbe, said: "This major infrastructure project will bring long-term benefits to the residents of Ibra Town, providing a modern and environmentally friendly sewerage system that will cater for the growing demands of the town for decades to come.''

Metito currently operates its European, Asian and African operations from its regional headquarters in Sharjah and Target(Oman) and Target & Jima (Dubai) are currently executing major infrastructure works both in Oman and Dubai.
