DUBAI - METITO, the international water treatment, desalination and wastewater treatment experts has won an Dh56 million ($15 million) turnkey contract to provide a range of highly specialised water treatment schemes for the $500 million Nubaria Combined Cycle Power Plant in Egypt.
The plant, located 60km south of Alexandria will be one of the largest in Egypt with a total output of 2 x 750 MW. The project is being undertaken for the Government of Egypt trough the Egyptian Electricity Holding. METITO is working in partnership with Power Generation Engineering and Services Co., the local arm of Bechtel, and with whom METITO has already undertaken a number of major projects in Egypt and elsewhere in the region.
Among these, is the water desalination scheme for Port Ghaleb leisure development in the south of Egypt on the Red Sea as well as a demineralised high purity water project for industrial use in Alexandria.
