The 44 metre long, 44 inch wide, 1200 dpi mega-print was produced at the Canon stand at Gitex2003, in front of a host of visitors, government officials and press. The quality of the print was verified by an audience of attending media and print industry professionals, as well as VIPs from Canon worldwide.

"Canon Middle East is delighted to have broken this world record today, as it clearly shows that Dubai is in the spotlight as the technology hub in the region, but is taking a prominent place on the world technology stage. Canon broke the world record at CeBit in Germany earlier this year - now we've broken it again here in the Middle East," said Gordon Jones, President of Canon Middle East. "Setting new standards for both speed and quality performance in the print-industry was always Canon's strength, even as we bring previously unavailable technologies to market".
