DUBAI - Sanyo, a global leader in digital cameras, yesterday announced the launch of its latest digital movie camera - VPC Cl.
Announcing the launch, Yuji Shioga, senior manager, Marketing & Sales, Sanyo, said the VPC Cl, which is easy to carry and shoot, captures smooth, natural looking VGA size (640 x 480 pixel) images at 30-frames per second.
"The captured images are virtually indistinguishable from quality TV images and come complete with l6bit AAC stereo audio - a first in the video camera industry. In addition, high quality still images (3.2 megapixel CCD) can be taken simultaneously while shooting movies," he said at a the launch. Also present were Koichi Shinohara, senior sales manager, and Densil Vincent, product manager, both of Sanyo.
Shinohara said, Sanyo, a market leader in digital cameras, recorded 100 per cent sales growth in digital cameras globally, when the growth of this segment was around 60 per cent. In the Middle East, Sanyo dominates the digital camera segment, he said.
"The 5.8x optical zoom feature of the new camera ensures crystal clear close-ups and beautifully brings out the finer details of the subject that is being shot. A simple procedure helps connect VPC Cl to the PC or the television allowing you to enjoy your captured moments on large screen with high quality stereo sound. Other user-friendly features include lithium-ion battery, compatibility with PictBridge technology, comfortable, steady grip, LCD monitor and simplified operations," explained Vincent.
"In 2003 Sanyo introduced VPC-J1 which has high resolution motion picture and is named as XACTI. Presently, we are introducing our new model XACTI J2 which has got features like talking navigation audio guide for first-timers and instant shooting and playback facility and PictBridge for easy printing. We are also introducing another new model VPC-S1 which also having the feature of PictBridge Compatible," said Vincent.
Shinohara said Sanyo, being the world's largest manufacturer of LCD projectors, offers a wide range to suit every application, from lightweight models for mobile business presentations to ultrabright stackable models for digital theatres.
