Saudi German Hospital-Dubai conducted a successful open heart surgery lasted for eight hours to 63-year-old a patient.

The patient came to the hospital suffering from severe calcifications in the aortic valve extended to the inside of the heart muscle leading to severe stenosis with incompetence defined as maximum possible degree. Also the Root and the Ascending part of the Aorta were enlarged in diameter up to 5.2cm (normal 2.8-3cm). In addition to patients main complain he has a long history of type II diabetes mellitus and hypertonia (high blood pressure), which increases the incidence of complications during or after surgery.
The medical team of the Cardiothoracic Department was able to perform this operation, which is called (Bentall operation), successfully without any bleeding or neurological complications. The worldwide complication rate of paralysis and organ failure accompanying this operation are up to 25 per cent and the mortality rate of up to 10 per cent, but because of the full facilities and equipment's which are available in the hospital and the wide experience of the medical team, this process could been successfully completed .
According to the medical team and the echocardiographic examinations, the patient will be able to return to normal life and practice his daily activities without any restrictions.
