In a notable shift, Apple has announced that its iconic Apple stickers will no longer be included in the box with the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. The decision, shared with Apple Store teams this week, as reported by 9to5Mac, is part of the tech giant’s broader push towards environmental sustainability and its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

For years, Apple has included stickers featuring its recognisable logo as a signature addition to its product packaging. However, the iPhone 16, released in-store on September 20, will break from tradition by omitting the stickers entirely—unless specifically requested by the buyer.

Apple stickers will be available to customers who purchase an iPhone 16 in Apple Stores, but third-party retailers or carriers won’t distribute them. Additionally, those ordering an iPhone 16 for home delivery won’t receive stickers, even if they ask.

The move aligns with Apple’s increasing efforts to reduce waste and plastic use. The company has highlighted that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro packaging is now entirely fiber-based, advancing Apple’s pledge to eliminate all plastic from its packaging by 2025. This eco-conscious approach continues Apple's recent trend, as seen in the Apple Vision Pro and new iPad models, which also excluded the stickers.

While the absence of Apple stickers marks the end of an era for some longtime fans, it underscores Apple's commitment to prioritising environmental responsibility in its future product launches.

In the box, however, customers will find the iPhone with iOS 18, a 1m USB-C charge cable, and documentation.

iPhone 16 Lineup

Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, featuring the new A18 chip for enhanced performance and efficiency. The iPhone 16 starts at Dh3,399, while the iPhone 16 Plus's base model is priced at Dh3,799. Both models come with a new camera control button and an innovative Action button for quick access to various functions.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max were also announced, featuring larger displays of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro boasts the thinnest bezels ever seen on an Apple product and introduces a new colour option, Desert Titanium, which replaces the blue colour. Powered by the A18 Pro chip, the iPhone 16 Pro offers enhanced performance and efficiency.

The iPhone 16 Pro now includes a 5x Telephoto camera, a feature previously exclusive to the Pro Max model. It also sports a 48MP main camera, a new 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a new camera control button. The iPhone 16 Pro supports 4K video recording at 120fps for video enthusiasts.

The iPhone 16 Pro starts at Dh4,299, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max's base model is priced at Dh5,099 in the UAE.
