The eighth annual edition of the Italian Cuisine World Summit (www.italincuisinesummit.com), one of the biggest world celebrations of Italian cuisine, will take place in Dubai between November 7 and November 17.
The world-level event will once again bring together the best Italian restaurants, food and grape producers, Michelin-starred chefs and culinary experts under one roof with the aim of celebrating, promoting and educating consumers about the beauty of Italian cuisine, its ingredients, leading manufacturers and the vibrant hospitality environment of Dubai as the world food capital.
Last year, the Summit involved 60 Italian restaurants and hotels from Dubai, 40 Michelin-starred chefs and 80 partners, and attracted over 150,000 people. This year, it is expected to build on an impressive reputation to be the best event to date.
The Summit will also be a world preview - and the first official part of the programme - of the Extraordinary Italian Taste, which is the first Italian Cuisine Week. The unprecedented promotion is being held under the patronage of the Italian Government, and will take place from November 21 to 27.
The core mission of the Summit is to bring the best Italian contemporary Michelin-starred chefs from the best Italian restaurants of Dubai to reward establishments that honour authenticity and quality. The programme of the Summit includes exceptional official events including the Opening Gala Dinner at Food Speciality Festival (World Trade Centre); the United Nations by Italian Cuisine night that will put together 180 chefs (30 Michelin starred) at the JW Marriott Marquise; and the Italian Street Food Festival with around 20 food trucks celebrating the grassroot essence of Italian cuisine at the amphitheatre of the Westin Marina Hotel.
Masterclasses, live cooking, a series of gastronomic competitions demonstrations (best pasta, risotto, espresso, gelato and pizza) are also planned in the programme to distinguish Dubai's best from the rest. A first-ever celebration of Italian pizza will be held in Dubai, in the occasion of the Summit, with the Congress: The Future of Pizza - The Pizza of Future, which is also the 10th edition of the annual symposium of Pizza UP, organised by the University of Pizza (Molino Quaglia). Some of the Best Pizza chefs in the world will work and debate with Michelin-starred chefs and prepare the Italian Gourmet Pizza Dinner of the Century at Mansion Billionaire.
The Italian Cuisine World Summit, an offspring of a network with over 2,500 chefs, restaurateurs and culinary professionals working in 70 countries, is being held under the auspices of the Italian Embassy in the UAE and the Italian Consulate General of Dubai. The event is being held courtesy of the collaboration of the Italian Trade Agency - UAE office.
The Summit has special collaboration agreements with Dubai World Trade Centre (Italy is the country partner of the Food Speciality Fair from November 7 to 9), the ICCA - International Centre for Culinary Arts, the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and the Italian Industry and Commerce office in the UAE (IICUAE). The event is managed by Exquisite Communications and IRC -Italian Restaurant Consulting (www.italianrestaurantconsulting.com). It is a leading international organisation specialising in events and assisting Italian restaurants around the world, either as start-ups or strengthening pre-existing concepts.
