Etihad Airways said there is no link between price of air tickets and the increase in the price of petrol in the UAE.
An Etihad Airways spokesperson said: "The price Etihad Airways pays for its jet fuel, whether in Abu Dhabi or in other markets around the world, is linked to benchmark indices that are independently assessed on a daily basis. There is no link between the price of petrol in the UAE and the price charged for jet fuel. Etihad Airways' total ticket prices are made up of a combination of elements, including fuel surcharges, and are competitively positioned in the markets we operate and sell in."
