Held under the theme 'Records and archives in a global age', the conference will address several hot issues related to copyright of documents and historical manuscripts, preservation of valuable documents, especially manuscripts and financing archives centres around the world.
Keynote speakers include Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed A Nahyan, UAE Minister of Information and Culture and Lorenz Mikoletzky, President of the International Council on Archives, representative from ALECSO, Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation.
Former President of Brazil, Fernando Enrique Cardoso, will also deliver a speech during the conference. More than 500 participants are expected to take part in the conference. Around 34 meetings for more than 16 sub-committees of the International Archives Centre will be organised on November 24 and 25 on the sidelines of the conference. As part of the conference activities, a new state-of-the-art building equipped with latest techniques in documentation and historical research will be inaugurated by General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
