Friday, July 24, was a bittersweet day for fans of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
While they heaped praise on his cinematic swan song, Dil Bechara, which premiered on Disney+Hotstar, they also bid a mournful farewell to a career and life cut tragically short.
Two of Friday's top trending hashtags were #DilBechara and #SushantSinghRajput.
One of the many celebrities who shared their emotions upon watching the film was Sushant's Sonchiriya co-star Bhumi Pednekar.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Bhumi wrote alongside a sober image of herself, "Full of emotions, overwhelmed and can't stop tearing up. What a class act. So endearing and seamlessly done, Sushant. Never experienced something so weirdly painful and beautiful. What a last dance .What a treat for all your fans and loved ones. Forever Sushant Singh Rajput."
She also acknowledged director Mukesh Chhabra and Sushant's leading lady, Sanjana Sanghi, in her note. "Mukesh Chhabra, so well done. Sanjana Sanghi, welcome to the movies. Kizzy, Manny (the names of Sanjana and Sushant's characters, respectively) and their world is so lovely, such a sweet and moving film. Full of love. Dil Bechara."
