Assamese superstar Zubeen Garg will be the main attraction at this Thursday's Bihu concert in Dubai.
The Assamese community in the UAE has left no stone unturned in their attempt to make their 20th Bohag Bihu celebrations a grand affair.
For Garg, who shot to national fame with his 2006 hit Ya Ali for the movie Gangster, this will be his fifth live concert in this city.
"I always love coming to Dubai. People here celebrate our biggest festival - Bihu - with so much passion and pride," Garg, who has recorded more than 15,000 songs in his career, had told Khaleej Times during an interview in 2014.
Bohag Bihu is celebrated in India's north eastern state of Assam on the occasion of the Assamese New Year in April. The festival also marks the onset of the most colourful and romantic of all seasons - Spring.
And Garg's die-hard Dubai-based Assamese fans are waiting with bated breath for his soulful rendition of some of his greatest romantic hits at Thursday's event.
The national-award winning singer will not be the only attraction in Dubai. Rising Assamese star Babu will also sing his hit numbers on the big night.
A folk dance will also be performed by a group of expats to celebrate the spirit of Bihu.
The Bohag Bihu event, organised by Eventides, will take place at Carlton Palace Hotel, Deira on April 12 from 7pm onwards.
