‘BEAUTY AND CHARACTER ARE TWO FACES OF THE SAME COIN’

Lebanese model Sana Kagk tells City Times that it is very essential to be professionally successful to add confidence to one's overall personality.

Why did you choose to study law?

Studying law has helped me understand the value of human life. I have learnt the importance of human rights without distinguishing between the rich and the poor.

But it requires a lot of seriousness. You are a model too. How do you dabble in these two distinct fields?

My being a model does not prevent me from thinking or doing some useful work for my society.

What is it that you would like to do for your country?

I would like to defend the wronged people everywhere.

Do you enjoy your stint as a model?

It is my hobby. It has encouraged me to break the monotony and tide through the hard times in my life.

But the modelling profession is in a way looked down upon especially in the Arab world. How do you deal with it?

In Western countries that is not the case. Being a model is quite a matter of prestige. I wish the profession is viewed in better light in the Arab countries in the future. Most of the models are very well educated and cultured people. Even though looks matter the most in this profession, it does not mean that models don't have strong characters.

Who is your favourite writer?

There are many. Lebyar Rofayel, Ehsan, Abd, Alqudus and Ahlam Mostganmy among others.

Are you rebellious by nature?

I am obstinate, so I have lost out on several opportunities in my personal and professional life. But then I have never given up on things.

What is your advice to girls who dream of looking beautiful?

Beauty and character are two faces of the same coin. So education is highly essential. It is only when one is successful in ones professional life that beauty gets its real shine.
