As Dubai Metro users hurried to their destinations, they paused for a few minutes to take in some quality international music at the stations.
International musicians charmed commuters across five Metro stations as the Dubai Metro Music Festival kicked off on a musical note on Sunday.
Commuters gathered around the musicians during the peak-hour commute times of 6am to 11am and 4pm to 9pm.
The free-to-attend festival, which features performances by 25 musicians across the world, will see some soulful numbers belted out over seven days at the Burjuman, Union, DMCC, Mall of the Emirates and Burj Khalifa stations.
The artists performing at the festival include traditional musicians, street performers, classical instrumentalists and fusion musicians. They are the most talented performers in their respective countries.
Participating musicians said the festival gives them a "unique platform" to showcase their music. "The festival gives us an opportunity to create new conversations and connections through the universal language of music," they said.
The festival adds on to the charm of Dubai's busiest cultural season, which also features global events like the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, Art Dubai, the SIKKA Art Fair and World Art Dubai.
