Reading about the murderer Dennis Nilsen made me sick. Why is he even being tried? In my opinion what he needs is the electric chair. The same goes for the depraved baby rapists and Katherine Horton's killers. - Robyn

As a newspaper City Times is by far one of the most interesting ones I've seen in this region. I pick it up everyday, though sometimes it disturbs me to read about gruesome murders and other violent acts. I understand that as a newspaper your duty is to keep us readers informed and entertained — and this is something even television and radio do. But it's so much easier to shut them off, somehow in a newspaper you just can't stop reading the details. Thank you for keeping us on the ball. - Saeed Abdullah

With reference to the article in City Times about the Turkish girl who contracted bird flu playing with the chickens, I feel that the media and the authorities concerned need to do better to spread awareness about this killer disease. The fact that the child's parents even let her touch the infected chickens shows that they were blissfully unaware of the danger of their actions. - Faye Saad

Why is everyone so critical of Michael Jackson? He has been blessed with a beautiful voice and is one of the most magnanimous celebrities one hears about. He is not just another run-of-the-mill misinformed celebrity looking for easy publicity. In fact I think after what he has been through it is probably the last thing on his mind. He has been tried and found 'not guilty' and now he is looking for a job just like anyone of us. And what could possibly be wrong with that? I would ask anyone who thinks otherwise, what would you do if you were in his position right now? - N P

The Iranian president has upset the international community with his actions, and there's no doubt about that. However should we really believe that Iran has a sinister nuclear agenda? With neighbours who are nuclear it's only natural that he would want the same for his country. And no one can fault him for that. - Afshin Sheibani

Iran's move has the makings of a serious crisis and at this stage diplomacy is perhaps the only way to respond. Any military action would just end up in another Iraq. - Sean

Of late Zee Cinema has been showing repeat telecasts of old Hindi movies within a gap of 7 to 10 days. Earlier TNT was doing the same. I request Zee authorities to show reruns once in 30 to 40 days. - K.Ragavan

I loved the article on spacewalking. Astronomy is a hobby and anything related to space is a never-ending source of fascination to me. Please publish more articles like this one. - Ryan Henderson

Though Iraq has been liberated from Saddam, thank God for that, it still remains mired in anarchy and terror. If some sort of order has to be restored, it can happen only with the help of the troops present there. But there are too few of them in my opinion. Sure Bush is under a lot of pressure back home with the numbers of fatalities rising, but if he doesn't send more troops, it's hard to see how Iraq will be normal again. The report in your paper, although speculative, about the U.S planning a billion dollar bunker and four military bases around the capital may be some evidence that there is hope in the regard. - Arnold Schwimmer
