Bipasha Basu who finds the sum of Rs 1 crore irresistible for a one- night performance has given her nod to the Sahara Star Hotel for New Year’s Eve.

The organisers are very relieved because they had heard too many stories about how she had ditched her director of Lamhaa and left for Mumbai.

Says a source, “Bipasha has been known to be unprofessional on many an occasion. She had signed a contract with Wizcraft for a particular amount for the Unforgettable concert. When Race released and was declared a hit, she demanded that the organisers pay her more, or else she would not attend. She was totally in the wrong and they could have taken her to court but the well-mannered Bachchans advised Wizcraft to ignore this irresponsible behaviour.

When shooting in Kashmir, Bipasha did not care about ditching an entire cast and crew, including Sanjay Dutt who had flown into Kashmir that very morning. Bipasha just upped and left without so much as an explanation. Naturally the hotel is worried in case she suddenly demands more money at the eleventh hour and they will be forced to pay up as they have sold their tickets at a high price in advance. Also hotels will be on high alert that night. Bipasha may just say she does not feel safe…

“Actually, Bipasha is their second choice. Sahara Star had approached Salman Khan to perform along with his brothers Sohail, Arbaaz and sis-in-law Mallaika. But Salman was demanding a price of Rs3 crores. As the hotel could not afford to pay him this high sum, the deal fell through. Now, Mallaika will be performing in Singapore.”

Ameesha Patel is all set to dance on New Year’s Eve at the Country Club for a sum of Rs25 lakhs. Her market price at present is at its lowest so one is not surprised that she has accepted this amount. But, what is shocking, says a source is that Ameesha who is such a snob and looks down on most things, is doing a dance at a club.

Katrina who is being paid over one crore by the JW Marriott is presently on hold. The hotel has not yet decided whether or not they will be having their usual lavish New Year’s Eve celebrations in the light of the recent tragic events in Mumbai.

Says an insider, “For an Ameesha, Bipasha, Mallaika or Rakhi to do a dance at a hotel seems understandable. But for Katrina to do this is a bit surprising as she has a totally different image in the industry. She also has a boyfriend who seems to have a lot of rules…”

Neha Dupia is also performing with Mika Singh at the Renaissance Hotel in Powai.
