What can we say about Dulquer Salmaan that we haven't already? Every time the man comes to town to promote any of his movies, we are floored by the actor's grace and charm. Such was the case yet again at the press conference held for his latest Varane Avashyamund at Reel Cinemas today. Along with his co-star Kalyani Priyadarshan and the film's director Anoop Sathyan, Dulquer spoke at length about his latest project for which he turned producer as well. "I want to be a part of as many good movies as possible. And even if I'm not acting in it, producing it will give me a chance to be a part of it somehow," he shared. The movie that brings together the older generation comprising Shobana and Suresh Gopi and the young gen with Dulquer and Kalyani isn't seen as a film targeting the generation gap. "It's a movie for everyone," says Dulquer. The Malayalam film looks at the relationship between a daughter (Kalyani) and mother (Shobana) and follows their life when two men played by Dulquer and Suresh Gopi move into their neighbourhood. Varane Avashyamund marks Kalyani's debut in the Malayalam film industry and we're curious about this shy bird who snuck into Mollywood after acting in Tamil and Telugu films. "In her own words this has been her best role yet," Dulquer said when asked about Kalyani's Malayalam film debut. She is no stranger to the limelight though. The daughter of acclaimed film director Priyadarshan and former actress Lissy, it was only a matter of time before she spread her own filmy wings. "Part of the reason it took a while was because I've been waiting for a story that would make my parents proud. I wanted the respect that they've built to be upheld and I believe this role and this project does that. The wait was worth it for me," said the shy star who radiated confidence at the press meet. Dulquer was all praise for his director Anoop Sathyan as well. "The more I worked with him the more I felt like he's a very talented director." The cast said this movie has all kinds of love stories in it. One could even say Varane Avashyamund is Anoop's love letter to Chennai. "The plan was to make a nice Chennai film. I lived in Chennai for 2 years and I loved the place," he said. Varane Avashyamund releases in UAE theatres tonight.
