French Fashion University, Esmod, is holding its second fashion show for students dubbed, 'Twisted' collection

FRENCH FASHION University Esmod, is tonight hosting its second annual fashion show, which will feature the latest innovations and trends from student designers at its Academic City Dubai campus.

Organised with the theme 'twisted', the event will showcase garments and designs prepared by 70 students from 18 different countries; up from last year's 30 participants from 12 countries. High profile figures from within Dubai's fashion industry are expected to attend; providing students with valuable public exposure and access to haute couture enthusiasts.

"Following last year's success, we are expecting a huge turn-out for our second annual fashion show, which will be one of the largest student fashion shows ever to be held in the UAE. We are proud to provide unique opportunities for our students to gain a world-class fashion career and participate in Dubai's emergence as a global fashion capital," said Tamara Hostal, PR and Marketing Director, French Fashion University Esmod.

The University's Dubai campus, established in October 2006, currently offers a range of creative, technical and marketing programmes, which include illustration, pattern drafting, knowledge of textiles, and history of fashion.

Master-classes in marketing, as well as merchandising, branding, trends forecasting and fashion workshops are also open to the public. The University's centrepiece BA Degree and Diploma in Fashion Design and Pattern Drafting, accredited by the French Ministry of Education, has opened registration for its next session beginning January 20, 2008.

"Esmod is committed to nurturing the creative spirit of its diverse group of fashion protégés, who no longer have to travel to other parts of the world to enjoy world-class fashion education. The region's fashion scene has only recently started kicking off, and Esmod plans to be at the forefront through further regional expansions and more tailored fashion education programmes," says Hostal.

The fashion show is one of the many events being organised by the University, which is also currently involved in organising a talent search and a photography exhibit; namely the Jean Paul Gaultier Photography Exhibition, that ended last Friday.
