EVERY TIME I swing the door to my apartment open, I'm given a glaring reminder that it's time to work out.
That's because it's rigged with one of my favourite fitness machines that allows me to get a rigorous training session in without ever having to hit the gym. The Tower 200 by Body By Jake is a resistance band cable system that affixes to any door, offering fitness enthusiasts a variety of exercises that can be done in the comfort of their homes. If you're the type that usually parks themselves on the sofa after a long day, this convenient mechanism is about to make it harder for you to make any excuses.
The machine is pretty straight-forward. In addition to taking up little space, it's sturdy and easy to set up. It comes with a DVD that will help walk you through countless exercises that can be adjusted and personalised to fit your goals. There are three colour-coded cables at both the top and bottom of the frame which offer different levels of resistance, from light to medium to heavy. This works well whether you're simply looking to tone up or build muscle.
Exercises available are plentiful, from bicep curls and chest flyes to leg extensions and ab crunches. If you're unfamiliar with resistance cables, it's worth noting that the risk to injury is far less than if you were to be lifting dumbbells or other weights, since your joints are better protected. The system is great for any fitness level since it's easy to use and can do the work of a dozen gym machines.
If finding the time to visit a gym just isn't an option some days, this machine is a great alternative that gets the job done.
