The much-awaited Bollywood Parks opens today. Watch the grandeur, drama, music, dance and magic of Indian cinema unfold right before your eyes as you walk through the region's largest theme park.
Spread across 1.7 million square feet of space, the venue has all installations of a Bollywood blockbuster. Movie sets like the ravines from the film Sholay, the fabled Ramgarh railway station from the classic, replicas of Mumbai gallis (lanes) are all there. Enjoy live entertainment, stage performances, cinema-themed rides and more.
Here are five things you shouldn't miss while you are there.
Mumbai Chowk
Inspired by the modern classic Don, Mumbai Chowk brings alive the soul of Mumbai. Take a walk through the streets of the capital of Indian cinema. A replica of the city's majestic Victoria Terminus railway station (now called CST) will take you down memory lane as you stop by a vada pav stall (an Indian veggie burger) and taste some authentic street cuisine. The Chowk offers live entertainment throughout the day.
Rustic Ravine
Experience the magic of rural India as you take a stroll across a rustic ravine and a colourful village. The place has a Champaner Carnival (a replica of Aamir Khan's village from his movie Lagaan) where you can get into some cricketing action. Walk on the tracks often used by the bandits in the movie Sholay or visit Ramgarh station.
Royal Plaza
Bask in the splendour and opulence of the Mughals at Royal Plaza, Rajmahal Theatre. Catch a Broadway-style Bollywood musical in the evening. Experience the grandeur of a Mughal palace as seen in the classic Dilip Kumar-starrer Mughal-E-Azam.
Hall of Heroes
This place is for all you action lovers out there! Get a glimpse into the production of the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara or go on a scenic aerial tour with superhero Krrish. You could also watch the digital adventures of Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One.
Bollywood Boulevard
Entertainment, shopping and food come together at this stop. There's even a café named after the Bollywood rock flick Rock On! Then there's the Jumbo Café that serves authentic flavours.Take a stroll on streets lined with shops that take you back to the lanes of Mumbai.
