foodOpening today, graced by the presence of Humaid Al Qutami, Minister of Health, and QAQ officials, the festival will continue until March 24, from 4 pm to 10pm on weekdays and 12 am on weekends, by the banks of the breathtaking water canal of Qanat Al Qasba.

"The QAQ Food Fest 2007 has evolved into a gastronomic experience, providing visitors with the best of food from around the world. A visit to the Food Fest will not just tantalize the taste buds of our visitors, but is bound to draw them into an exciting world of food and cooking with the many activities that are lined up from morning till evening," said Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority.

"We believe the Al Qasba Food Fest is not only a family event, but one that brings together the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic society of our country, through the common language of food," he added.

The best food happening in the emirate, the Al Qasba Food Fest brings together a wide variety of cuisines from around the world including Mexico, Italy, China, India, the UAE and the region, and celebrates great food with a myriad of culinary delights. The luscious spread of local and international offerings at the QAQ Food Fest will feature savoury dishes and delicious creations.

Delightful displays of chocolate, fruits and vegetables, different kinds of tea and coffee, breads and much more will be featured through the day, while myriads of edutainment workshops, including nutrition, etiquette, food arts and decoration and cooking classes will be held from 4pm onwards.

The Food Fest will also feature some exceptional live cooking sessions and demonstrations by some of the top chefs in the UAE.

Accompanied by musical extravaganza performed by various bands, the event will also feature folk dance and live performances.

Flyers featuring information about the Al Qasba Food Fest were handed out by performers in stilettos and chef costumes around the Khalid Corniche and main streets of Sharjah through the festival.
