After playing a variety of roles, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff is now gearing up for a spiritual turn in his career with Deepak Balraj's Saibaba. "It is a very different role for me after the grey characters I have essayed lately in films.
I am looking forward to it. It will have to be a very controlled performance," Bollywood Trade quoted Jackie as saying.
Asked if he was a Saibaba devotee, Jackie said: "I have been to Shirdi on some occasions in the past but I firmly believe that god resides in each of us.
"Our soul is a temple; therefore it is important to be honest to yourself if you want to reach out to god. But I do intend to meet devotees of Sai in order to feel and render conviction to the character."
Apart from "Saibaba", Jackie has an impressive line-up of releases in the next few months.
He has Sachin Bajaj's "Naksha", scheduled for early September, in which he plays a hard core villain; and Sangeeth Sivan's "Apna Sapna Money Money" will see him as a comic villain.
He is also in Poonam Sinha's "Mera Dil Leke Dekho", Vidhu Vinod Chopra's "Eklavya" and more.
Meanwhile there are three more films in the offing. Jackie says all will see him playing diverse roles.
