Headliner Josh Widdicome accompanied by master of ceremonies Ed Gamble and relative newbies Lloyd Langford and Maisie Adam will be descending on Dubai Opera with their well-honed routines on September 13 from 8pm. In what is a stellar lineup, the British comedians are the latest coup for the venue following successful shows from veterans Al Murray and Alan Davies over the last few months.
A regular on UK TV, Widdicome is best known for the notorious panel show circuit and as co-presenter of weekly live satirical magazine programme The Last Leg, which began life as an accompanying segment to the 2012 London Summer Paralympic Games coverage. Going on to receive BAFTA nominations, the series is often praised for its inclusivity and liberalism while maintaining a high laugh hit rate. Newspaper The Guardian has called Widdicome: "One of the most bankable talents in UK comedy."
Gamble is currently the co-host of one of our most treasured podcasts, Off Menu, and will be familiar to BBC Worldwide viewers as Georgie from the brilliant mockumentary, Almost Royal, where he and fellow comic Amy Hoggart played low-ranking heirs to the British throne driving across rural America.
Welshman Lloyd Langford is making a name for himself for his laid-back delivery and Maisie Adam recently impressed during a debut appearance on the BBC's Mock The Week where her set on going out and being tall went down a storm. Tickets for the September performance are available at dubaiopera.com
