With hardly hours to go before the glitz and glamour of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) descends on the city, visitors to the Dubai Mall onThursdayevening were pleasantly taken aback to rub shoulders with Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif. The Dhoom 3 star had flown in from India specially to launch Gitanjali's Nakshatra diamond collection at Paris Gallery.
'I actually think there was a plan for us (Dhoom 3) to come (to DIFF) but it didn't materialise but that would have been nice,' Katrina told City Times when we caught up with her in between her store visits. She seemed pretty curious as to who all from Bollywood would be there in attendance and when we informed her the Gunday cast (Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh) would be coming down for the fest she immediately responded with a, 'That will be nice - Ali's my friend (directorAli Abbas Zafar with whom she worked in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan), he's a fun guy.' With a flight to catch and promotions for the upcoming Dhoom 3 a clear priority, guess Dubai was just a brief stop for this star who looks all set to consolidate her position as a top actress in the industry.
After a quick round of the luxury store at Dubai Mall, the star headed to The Festival City outlet of Paris Gallery. With the highly anticipated Dhoom 3 up for release onDecember 19, and rumours of an impending engagement with Ranbir Kapoor, it looks like the stars are all shining on Ms Kaif.
