Nene Tamayo was the first winner of PBB followed by Keanna Reeves of PBB Celebrity Edition. And now Kim Chiu has emerged the winner of the PBB Teen Edition.

"When I joined the audition in Cebu, I never told anyone. I joined the audition to prove to my aunts who were putting me down that I also have abilities and I can be independent," says Kim.

Her mom left the family when Kim was only 9 years old. She turned 16 on April 19, the fourth in a family of five kids. "Our father left us also and remarried in Mindoro where he now has a second family. I have three younger half-siblings there."

But in spite of this, she is not angry at her parents. "What's the use? Even if I get angry or sad, nothing will come out of it. It's my dad's grandma who raised us. We're two boys, three girls all in all. Now that I won 1 million pesos, I will be the one to send my siblings to school because the money being sent by our dad is not enough."

She's a senior at the Cebu Cherish School but she'll now stay in Manila to pursue a showbiz career and study via distance learning.

"But I really want to try showbiz," she says.
