She made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with Main Aur Charles alongside stalwarts like Randeep Hooda and Adil Hussain. Born into the illustrious Nadiadwala family, Lucky Morani, however, considers herself more of a theatre person. A woman with her fingers in many pies, she's a fashion designer as well, with credentials from SNDT Women's University. Lucky along with her partner Amane were honoured with the GR8 Women Achievers award in the designer segment last Wednesday in Dubai. All the gowns showcased during the evening are now available at Glamour Palace Boutique in Wasl Square, Al Hadiqa Road, Al Safa, Jumeirah. Here she tells us more about her designs.

Tell us about the collection showcased at the recent GR8 Women Awards in Dubai.
It was called Garden Of Love because the theme was flowers, all kinds and all colours depicting nature in all its glorious beauty. Flowers complement a woman's feminine side so it was perfect for the event and also its springtime and flowers are in bloom everywhere.

How long did you take to put the collection together?
Amane and I have toiled on this collection for the last two to three months, deciding on fabrics and colours. Then contouring gowns according to the fabric and finally deciding the material, texture and colours of flowers to be embroidered and embellished on them.

Who according to you are the best dressed actors in Bollywood currently.
Starting at the senior level, I think Mr Amitabh Bachchan has great style and carriage. Amongst women, Kangana Ranaut is different and makes a statement.

Do you design with a particular woman in mind? If so how would you describe her.
I design with myself in mind. It should be what I would like to see on me, as I am my best judge and also worst critic. Amane and I have matching sensibilities in design which makes us a great team.

You acted in crime thriller Main Aur Charles. Any future Bollywood plans.
Acting has been in my blood, being born a Nadiadwala - one of the first and largest film producing families in Bollywood. I am more a theatre actor and have been doing plays and hit musicals like Sound Of Music, City Of Dreams in which I sang live and danced alongside acting. In my last play Selfie, I actually spoke more Urdu as required by my character which the audience simply loved. The movie Main Aur Charles was my foray into cinema and the silver screen.
Sharing screen space with Randeep Hooda and with a veteran NSD teacher like Adil Hussain was fun and exhilarating. Specially when he complimented my acting skills and confidence for a first timer. I'm open to films that match my sensibilities. I have got many offers to do television too.
I run Lucky's Music Club for my Company Cineyug Entertainment bringing live singing with Bollywood artists to an eagerly participating live audience. I've also launched LuckyAmane Beijing International Culture Media Co with my partner Amane. And I will of course keep working on my gowns for 'LuckyAmane' my designer label.
Iulia proves a showstopper
Iulia Vantur wowed everyone when she walked the ramp in a bespoke, flower-laden gown by LuckyAmane at the GR8 Women Awards. The experience of working with the Bollywood star, was "absolutely amazing," says Lucky. "My choice of Iulia as showstopper in our most spectacular piece was a perfect one. She was thoroughly professional and complemented it perfectly. Not only that we surprised everyone with a specially recorded song by her for all the lovely women specially for the women's awards event."
