The Angry Birds Movie
Traditionally video game to movie crossovers have been rubbish. Mario Bros., Tomb Raider, the Hitman series; with a small exception in Resident Evil all have been predictable and dull.
And so we come to this week's big release The Angry Birds Movie, based on the insanely popular mobile phone app Angry Birds. From the off we have to say it looks only okay. It has a lot to live up to given the high standards of big budget animation, but the trailer offers a decent number of laughs.
The story is pretty inconsequential. Trying to tie in the game, Red is the only angry bird on Bird Island until the Pigs show up and start stealing eggs. A battle ensues.

Rotten Tomatoes gives it 50%
The Perfect Match
Even though this stars one of our favourites - Paula Patton - it still doesn't save it from being dreadful.
In The Perfect Match Paula only plays a bit part as the protagonist's sister, so maybe that's the reason.
The film follows playboy photographer and model agent Charlie - the man with the car, the watch, the house and a string of beauties. Surprise, surprise, one one-night-stand turns into something more serious, That's about it.

Rotten Tomatoes gives it 29%

The Trust
Why can't Nicolas Cage make a decent movie anymore? It's not fair. We used to love him. Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas and even Gone in 60 Seconds, his great body of work is being systematically dismantled piece by piece every time he signs on for some nonsense.
The latest outing, The Trust, is probably the least silly of recent choices but that doesn't mean it's any good.
He and Elijah Wood are underpaid cops who attempt to rob a gang of drug dealers to make a bit of cash on the side.

IMDb gives it 5.4
All Roads Lead to Rome
An uptight New York mother, Sarah Jessica Parker, takes her tearaway daughter to Italy to chill out. Wouldn't you know it the person she has rented a cottage off is a former rebellious flame. Faceplant.

IMDb gives it 4.7
