Mexican filmmaker falls for ‘Don Juan’

Set in Spain’s Golden Age against the backdrop of the Spanish Inquisition, the adaptation of the Douglas Carlton Abrams novel follows Juan Tenorio from his days as an orphan in a nunnery (where he corrupts one of the sisters) through his teenage years as a thief and spy and finally to his perilous rise through Sevilla society as a notorious libertine.

Ulloa will meet with actors about the iconic role later this week.
