THE DREAM TEAM is back again, this time, albeit for a short film. Director Alphonse Putharen and actor Nivin Pauly, after the super-duper success of Premam are joining hands for a movie in Tamil, titled Aviyal.
Typical of the name, the film is an anthology of five short films, and is produced by Karthik Subbaraj. While Alphonse will direct Nivin's film, which also features Bobby Simha (who had acted in Neram), the other directors include Sameer Sulthan, Mohith Mehra, Logesh Kanakaraj and Guru Smaran.
This could not have come at a better time for Nivin, who finds his fan-base in Tamil Nadu increasing leaps and bounds. His new film Action Hero Biju had reportedly the largest opening for a Malayalam film in Tamil Nadu, while his Premam continues to play at theatres in Chennai.
That is no small feat for the actor, who will now be seen on Jacobinte Swargarajyam, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Meanwhile, Action Hero Biju has gained tremendous critical acclaim for steering away from typical police clichés and bringing out the 'true face of the police' in a realistic manner.
Nivin, apparently, has downplayed the role brilliantly, while cameo appearances by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Meghanathan are winning rave reviews.
