A look-alike of Kristine Hermosa, Pauleen used to be under the wing of STAR Magic, formerly the ABS-CBN Talent Centre until her move to GMA-7 last year.

It's widely believed that her 'involvement' in the Diether Ocampo-Kristine Hermosa issue — Pauleen was rumoured to be the third party that caused the couple's breakup — was one of the main reasons behind her refusal to renew her contract and her eventual transfer to the rival network.

But Pauleen maintains her innocence to this day.

Diether did court Pauleen when she was still with ABS-CBN, but according to Pauleen, that was before he and Kristine got together. This was two or three years ago, when Pauleen was only 14 years old.

People were saying that she crossed over to GMA-7 because they were offering more money.

Pauleen says it's more than just that. "GMA is giving me a chance to prove myself — what I am, what I have," says the young actress.

Within one week of her arrival at GMA, Pauleen was already taken in as a semi-regular on the long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. Since then, she has also appeared on Nuts Entertainment, SOP Gigsters and Now and Forever, where she played a dual role as sisters Clarissa and Cristina, both in love with the same guy. She is also seen regularly on the sitcom My Guardian Abby on QTV Channel 11, a sister station of GMA-7. She was also included in the cast of Blue Moon, the entry of Regal Films to last year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

Regal matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde was so impressed by her talent that she started calling Pauleen "my princess" and signed her up to an unprecedented 12-picture contract.

Even her lovelife seems to be working out. Pauleen is reportedly dating a professional basketball player. Pauleen hopes that this time, the relationship will be peaceful and won't be bothered by any intrigues. "I can take anything, as long as he's not a liar or a flirt," she says.
