in the UAE and this year too teams participating in the event will see to it that no page is left unturned in their quest for knowledge... vital to hand the crown only to those who truly deserve it.
The event on June 4, organised by Dubaiquiz.com, has seen tremendous success over the past few years because of a few important points on the aforementioned mission statement which read; to innovate and invigorate the tools of knowledge delivery and to build an environment conducive to the growth of the knowledge culture. Explains Jamshed Mehdi, Chief Executive Officer at Dubaiquiz.com, "We have been doing this (the Brain Challenge) annually, for the past three years. Our company will soon (in November) be celebrating its fifth anniversary and on the whole the response to all of our events has simply been phenomenal. We have received excellent feedback regarding the quiz, in particular, not only from those participating in the event but also from the audience, attending it. They say they have a fantastic time throughout the evening."
Excitement, is exactly what Dubaiquiz.com have intended to give the people of Dubai through the Brain Challenge contest, which was first held in 2003. "The event has become part of peoples lives. We receive a lot of calls from people either interested in participating in the event or people wanting to become part of the evening. The show is very interactive, so even before we can make any announcements, our phone lines get busy with people wanting to know more."
Mehdi mentioned that his event, though corporate, aimed at bringing people from a particular field or community together. "It is meant to be a fun evening and despite the corporate interest, the interactive sessions make attending the event a lot of fun. Besides, there are a number of prizes for the audience too. It gives people a chance to step out of their homes and interact with others working in the same field. It encourages a lot of interaction."
The 2005 edition of the event has seen the number of entries cross the three-digit figure, from the 75-80 teams that registered for the competition last year. Brain Challenge 2005, like its forerunners, will be a two tier event, where the first round will see all of the participating teams entering a Written Elimination Round. The six top teams from round one will then progress to the On Stage Finals, which will be held later in the evening.
