NAWAZUDDIN SIDDIQUI SAYS he bonded well with Salman Khan on the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
"While we were shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, we had a lot of fun during the break. We use to talk a lot after pack up. I felt he has a child-like innocence and has maintained that innocence," the Kahaani actor said.
Nawazuddin will be seen next in Manjhi - The Mountain Man, where he will play the lead role opposite Radhika Apte. The movie is based on the life of an extraordinary man from Bihar, Dashrath Manjhi, who carved a path through a mountain using only a hammer and chisel so that people in his village could have easy access to the nearest hospital.
"It is very difficult for an ordinary man to dig a mountain for 22 years just for the love of his wife (who died due to lack of medical facilities in a village). It is the story of dedication. On sets it was physically and mentally tough to get into the mindset of someone who did something impossible."
The 41-year-old actor revealed he injured himself several times during the shooting of the film. He said it took one-and-a-half month for him to come out of the role of his character (Manjhi). "I went out alone to several places... this is the impact this character has had on me."
Meanwhile Salman, who has ventured into full-fledged production with Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Hero, hopes to produce a Marathi film in the future. "Of course, I'll make (Marathi film), why not? If I get a good plot and good subject."
Salman was present at the trailer launch of actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar and his son Satya's film Janiva. He quipped: "If Mahesh Manjrekar is ready to direct it, Satya is ready to act and if Salman Khan plays a guest appearance (I'll make the film)."
Manjrekar said: "One film I want to do with him (Salman is) where he does a Marathi film in a proper nice role. He'll do it definitely (the film)."
