STUDENTS BRIDGE 'LEARNING' DIVIDE

said that the visit took place during Independent Learning Week and was of academic, cultural and social benefit to the students.

Whilst in London the students visited The Bank of England where they gained an insight into the history of the Bank and even held a kilogramme of gold. Almond highlighted that the students also went to the UAE Embassy to learn about their role and the way the embassy helps their nationals living in the UK.

Famous tourist attractions on the agenda included the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, Windsor Castle and a visit to Madame Tussauds. One of the highlights of the trip was when the students visited East Berkshire College and gave a presentation about the UAE and HCT to a group of travel and tourism students. "There was just enough time for a spot of shopping at Harrods and Selfridges where the students purchased small gifts and souvenirs to remind them of their trip," he added.
