The new love of Angel Aquino

Angel, who has two daughters aged 13 and 11, is older than Lui by about six years. The two of them met when Lui went to Angel's house to film a clip for Akyat Bahay, a segment on his morning show where they feature celebrities' homes. When the filming was over and after the crew had left, Lui stayed behind for coffee. They also exchanged phone numbers. After Lui left, Angel noticed a strange backpack that had been left on their couch. She immediately rang up Lui on his mobile phone to tell him about it, thinking that it might belong to him or to one of his crew members. Lui drove back to get it, and that started what has now turned into a beautiful friendship.

To date, they've been a couple for about two months. They celebrate their “anniversary” on the 17th of every month. Last February, they had a double celebration: Valentine's Day, which falls on the 14th, and their monthly anniversary three days later.

Angel was touched by the efforts Lui put into making their first-ever Valentine's Day together special. “He cooked for me [in his home]. It was a five-course dinner with lamb chops as the main course. He even made mushroom soup and sardine pasta. Ironically, he didn't think of dessert, and that's my favorite part!” she laughs.
