The competition's objective is to test the general knowledge and IQ of participants in a variety of categories like literature, business, art, nature, sports, history and movies.

The contest was bigger and better this time with Khaleej Times and Air Arabia sponsoring the event, 13 teams participating and the audience turning up in huge numbers. The contest was divided into three parts beginning with quarter finals which would shortlist 6 teams to participate in the semi finals post which only three top teams would be lucky enough to battle it out in the finals.

The ones with the highest scores would walk away with three Air Arabia tickets; prized trophies and certificates. First runners up would be awarded 3 annual Khaleej Times' subscriptions trophies and certificates. Besides this, those in the audience answering correctly were awarded 50 per cent discounted desert safari tickets courtesy, Khaleej Times as well.

It was a challenging competition with immense pressure building up on the three finalists. The entire finals were divided into five rounds. Beginning with the category round, the teams had a free hand in choosing the categories they were most comfortable with in answering.

Six categories were provided to the teams, namely: Science, History, Sports, Awards and Honors, nature and Movies and 5 questions from the chosen category were put forth. Next up was the fun and mind boggling, 'brain teasers' round where simple puzzles and mathematical riddles were asked and the teams had to work out the solutions without any pens or calculators.

However nothing could beat the exhilaration of the 'rapid fire' where the team had to nominate one person to answer as many questions as possible within the one minute time limit. The pressure to perform couldn't have been more intense.

The highlight of the competition was the 'betting your chances' round where the teams were required to bet on their points. The right answer would double their score but a wrong one would unfortunately result in negative marking of the points. The last and final round, the 'buzzer round' added to the already electrifying tension. Teams had to be on their toes and 'buzz' in first in order to answer.

The 'Mongorians' were declared the winners being with the highest points. 'Eureka' and 'Trinity' being the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. The show was hosted by different comperes, namely Samihah Sifat Zaman (quarters), Vladimir Fermazi (semis) and Mr Ali Khawaja (finals). All of them did a great job of seasoned quiz masters and only added to the success of the event.

This event was organised by the Business Student Committee (SBM) and headed by the project manager, Shirin Sheikh.
