Most people have an extreme reaction when they hear the name Shane Warne. Not many people are indifferent to the cricketing legend. More than just an athlete, he is a true cricketing celebrity when other players didn't really gain worldwide recognition in the sport of bats and balers. Obviously, it was his skill but there is more to Shane that has made him memorable to a wider audience.

From some light reality TV, writting a book, his broadcasting and poker career, Shane has remained in the public eye for better and sometime for worse. Despite the success and scandals that have kept him a regular in the headlines, there seems to be something incredibly likeable about the man. It was easy to see why when City Times had the chance to talk to him.

After a long day involved in the launch of the Advanced Hair Studio in Dubai, a flagship facility pioneering cutting-edge hair replacement and hair retention technologies, a brand, which Shane has been involved with for 13 years, Shane would have been exhausted. However, despite this, Shane was pleasant, humorous and complimentary to everyone that approached him.

Surprising for us to learn was that the man, who exudes what some would call brash, alpha male confidence was also very open to talk about a great male insecurity. Going bald.

"That's right," he told City Times, "I am a confident guy. But going bald . . . I just didn't like it and I wanted to do something about it."

City Times sat down with Shane and openly discussed his career, the pitfalls of fame and his new Emoji project. That's right, soon, you can use Shane Warne Emoji's to express yourself and we can't wait.
Dubai
The first time I came to Dubai was in 1994 that was twenty-two years. Every time I come here there are new buildings and fantastic opportunities for different things. You can do indoor snow skiing, they've opened the biggest indoor theme park and they are about to open an outdoor water theme park and everything else as well. Dubai is somewhere I want to bring my family and have a holiday here. My kids were young when I brought them her before. So I it will be good, I'd like to bring them here.
On Going Bald
For me it started to affect my confidence, I didn't like that I was going bald. Some people don't mind it, you look at Bruce Willis, he rocks a bald head, he looks good. But there are a lot of guys out there that don't do anything about it or are too scared to talk about it. I hope that my involvement (with the Advance Hair Studio) has lead to a lot more people saying, "Oh, if Shane can do it, I'm happy to do it too."

Shane Warne the Father
Whatever my children want to do is fine. As long as they are happy. I think that's the main thing. For me it's all about enjoyment. I want them all to get the best education they possibly can so they have choices. I think teenagers in this day and age, when they finish school it's all about having options and choices. If they have a proper education then they have a choice about what they want to do. If my son wanted to play cricket, which he wouldn't, good luck to him. He can do whatever wants to do as long as he's happy.
