Television star Karan Wahi talks about playing a rapper his latest web series Hundred

Karan Wahi is among a growing list of large-hearted celebrities who are playing good samaritans by helping the unfortunate during these trying times. The actor, a popular face on television, recently donated his entire earnings to help people hit hard by the pandemic.
He is also making his presence felt on the digital space in the web series Hundred, in which he plays the role of Manmohan 'Mad-E' Dahiya, a DJ and aspiring rapper. Wahi took help from rapper Raftaar to prepare for his role in the series which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
The police drama-comedy, which revolves around a girl who has 100 days to live and a cop, features Lara Dutta Bhupati and Rinku Rajguru (of Sairat fame) in lead roles. We ask Wahi to tell us more about the show. 
You are playing a rapper in Hundred, what drew you to the role?
Everything about the character was so intriguing and interesting, right from his looks to how he looked at life to his mannerisms. Being an actor, I know how people are trying so hard every day to make a name here (in showbiz) and Mad-E is one of them. Though he appears to be super chilled, there's a vulnerable side to him.

How was it working with Lara Dutta and Rinku Rajguru?
I am really glad and honoured to have worked with both of them. I feel Lara Dutta is a lot like her character. It's amazing to be with actors who enhance our work.
Are you happy with the response Hundred has received so far?
I am so happy that people are loving the show and have been binge-watching it. It's always nice when your work is seen by the audience. 
You are a huge fan of web shows and known to binge-watch series, in terms of the content, what are your impressions of the originals coming out of India?
Frankly, I'm enjoying the kind of content that's being curated currently. I hope we only get better. However, there is a lot of influx in terms of content in India, while some of the shows are great, others are average, but that's the case everywhere else.
Which are some of your favourite shows?
I enjoyed watching Money Heist, Asur, Panchayat, Jamtara, and of course, Hundred.
Is it true that you donated all your earnings towards Covid-19 relief?
Yes. I am currently in a position to survive and manage my finances. I wanted to help people in need so that they too can have a better tomorrow.
How are you spending your time during the lockdown?
I am mostly at home. However, I'm putting my time to good use by learning new things. I am also ensuring that I take time out to relax.  What's the first thing you'll do when the lockdown ends and life comes back to normal? I genuinely cannot wait to give my friends and close ones a hug as soon as self-isolation ends.
What's next for you?
Work will happen only when the quarantine period ends. Until then, I want everyone to binge on online content.
