Continuing its mission to nurture young minds and instill a love of stories in children, Sharjah Public Libraries (SPL) invited Sally Mousa, Pulse 95 Radio presenter, to read from Farm in the City to inaugurate its online storytelling session for children. Farm in the City is available online in SPL's Highlights Library.
Farm in the City tells the story of two children who live in the city, but their garden makes their home look like a farm. There are carrots growing under their table, their windows bloom with flowers, and tomatoes grow on their roof.
The story is part of SPL's online reads, and features on their Digital Library along with 6 million other eBooks, videos, audiobooks, and academic resources representing a variety disciplines, that can be accessed by readers worldwide at https://catalog.shjlib.gov.ae/.

After the narrating the tale, Mousa took her young audience on a virtual tour of her personal garden to show them the vegetables and flowers she grows at home. She then proceeded to show them how easy it was to grow them in their own home with some tips and tricks.
SPL's virtual storytelling sessions are intended to engage homebound children in an activity that will bring them joy and learning, and also add to their life skills. The sessions are available on SPL's Instagram account @sharjahlibraries.
