Having made an endearing debut with the coming-of-age and lovable June last year, Sarjano Khalid is paving his way in the industry. After having a mere two movies in his bag Sarjano bagged the opportunity to work with a stalwart like Mohanlal so early in his career.
Playing younger brother to Mohanlal's Sachidanadan (character) in Big Brother, Sarjano was drawn to the script from the moment Siddique narrated it to him. Talking about his character he told us in an email interview, "My character in the movie is important and it's very different from what I have done in June. I can't say too much about Manu, the character I play, except that he has an interesting character graph."
"Mohanlal and Siddique sir are the primary reasons I jumped into this project. These are my learning years; through the movies I do I learn about the craft of film making and character building. Both Lalettan and Siddhique sir are legends, and I was sure the knowledge that I was going to have by being part of this project will be unimaginable."
"Working with Mohanlal is a spiritual experience for me. From the very first day onwards he started treating me like a younger brother. So I never got intimidated by his presence. His transformation as a character in front of the camera was magical. Off camera he is a different person altogether. Through all the little conversations we had he taught me a million things. What I miss the most now is those warm hugs he used to give me every day when we met."
After having a great start to his career, Sarjano says there isn't any particular genre he wants to be known for. The talented youngster wants to explore all kinds of movies. "Content is king now and characters are written well. (I'd) love to play different characters in any genre," he shares.
After Big Brother we'll next see him in Ajay Gnanamuthu's upcoming film with Chiyan Vikram.
