WORLD BOXING CHAMP Manny Pacquiao has recently purchased a 930-square meter mansion in Beverly Hills formerly owned by P.Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. Pacquiao brought his wife Jinkee and their five children—with family dog Pacman —to their newly purchased home in Beverly Hills last Sunday.

“I’m very happy that they all liked it. Behind all my success in life is my wife, Jinkee. This mansion is my gift to her and our children,” Pacquiao said in an interview with ABS CBN. The house also features a grand entryway with an elaborate spiral staircase and a large crystal chandelier, a chef’s kitchen, a state-of-the art media room and a family room with a sports bar.

Elsa Nelson, vice president and manager of real estate firm Nelson Shelton & Associates, said three bidders had signified interest in buying the prime estate. “The two other bidders offered a much higher price but the current owners decided to sell it to world boxing icon Manny Pacquiao,” Nelson said.

Nelson declined to say how much the final selling price was but said it was very close to the asking price of $12.5 million

Sellers Gail and Roger Dauer, who still live in the house, said they made sure they were well-prepared for the Pacquiao family’s visit. Nelson, in turn, negotiated for Pacquiao to include as part of the deal four tickets to the May 2 megafight in Las Vegas between Pacquiao and the American Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Tickets for the fight range from $1,500 (P67,500) to $7,500 (P337,500). “Nelson said two other buyers offered more money for the property but the fight tickets helped clinch the deal for Pacquiao. Pacquiao’s agent Nick Enciso said he was expediting paperwork so the Pacquiao family could start moving in by the first week of April.
