There are few countries in the world that can beat the diversity of Indian culture. Interestingly, the UAE is a melting pot of diverse communities from several countries, including India.
One among such communities is from Shiroor, a tiny coastal village in the South Indian state of Karnataka. People from this village are known as Shiroorians.
On Thursday, they met for their annual family get-together at Al Bustan Banquet Hall in Al Nahda, Dubai. Several entertainment programmes were arranged for men, women and children including poetry recitation, spot quiz contest, art and crafts competition.
Dessert competition for women was the main attraction of the evening.
Our photographer Neeraj Murali brings the event alive through pictures.
