The Dubai Police has assured the public that precautionary measures have been implemented at Dubai Airports to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police and head of the Crises and Disasters Team in Dubai, has inspected the preventive measures being carried out at the airports since the outbreak of the new virus from Wuhan, China, was declared.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) on Wednesday confirmed the country's first case of the coronavirus infection, which was detected in a four-member Chinese family. All members of the family are in stable condition, and all necessary measures are taken, the ministry said.

During the police inspection at the airport, Maj-Gen Al Marri toured the arrivals area, security check points, duty free areas, and transit halls.
He also overviewed safety measures including the screening process for passengers arriving on direct flights from China. All travellers from these flights must pass through thermal scanners at the gates and must be provided with health safety tips and guidebooks.
The thermal screening procedures are conducted at secured gates by the Dubai Health Authority and the Airport Medical Centre team.
Maj-Gen Al Marri praised the role of Dubai Airports in implementing preventive public safety measures that come within the directive issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the UAE and according to the instructions of Mohap.
