Covid-19: Schools, universities closed for two weeks in Bahrain over coronavirus fears

The government of Bahrain has issued directives, tightening measures designed to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), which has been identified in citizens returning from Iran prior to the country announcing the pandemic.
In response to the issuance of the directives, the Ministry of Education announced that all public and private universities, will be closed for two weeks starting from Wednesday, February 26.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development also announced the closure of all its training centres, in addition to the closure of all private and public community centres that provide support to individuals with disabilities starting from February 20, 2020.
Schools and kindergartens to be closed
The Ministry of Education has also announced that all public and private schools, including kindergartens, will be closed for two weeks starting from Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
 
The ministry added that the decision was taken in light of the precautionary measures implemented to contain the spread of the voronavirus among individuals who have visited Iran, before the country announced it was facing a Covid-19 pandemic.
Six new cases of the coronavirus has been registered in the Kingdom, confirming a total of eight registered cases so far.
The cases were registered after two Bahraini citizens (one male and one female) and four Saudi nationals (four females) arrived at Bahrain International Airport from Iran and were examined as part of the precautionary measures taken in light of the global coronavirus outbreak.
The ministry outlined that all necessary tests were taken while the infected individuals were in a designated and isolated area at the Airport where the positive results for Covid-19 were confirmed.
