The UAE has realised a new achievement as part of its continuous efforts and preventive and precautionary measures it put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 and ensure the safety of the community. As part of its intensified testing campaign, active coronavirus cases in the country have been steadily declining over the past weeks.
Following stringent precautionary measures against the spread of Covid-19, residents across the UAE celebrated the first day of Eid Al Adha on Friday. Though festivities were subdued this year due to the pandemic, most residents preferred to stay home and spend time with their loved ones on the festival. However, authorities have called on the public to adhere to safety measures and avoid large gatherings, to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially during the long weekend. The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (Added) has also reminded Abu Dhabi business owners, especially service providers, of the importance of following all preventive and precautionary measures against Covid-19 and implementing them during Eid to protect public health.
Meanwhile, the Consul-General confirmed that between August 1 and 15, a total of 164 Air India and Air India Express flights will operate from India to the UAE on the return leg of VBM. It also confirmed that India and the UAE are also moving towards an air bubble concept. The agreement enables a sharing of flights between the countries to repatriate Indian citizens and stranded expatriates to return to the UAE on the return-leg of the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) flights.
