Combating coronavirus: 9-year-old Emirati donates Dh100,000 to combat Covid-19 in UAE

In a burst of genuine and touching generosity a 9-year-old Emirati child has donated Dh100,000 from his savings to help the United Arab Emirates fight the new coronavirus.
According to a report in Emarat Al Youm, the child, Mohammed Hamid Abdul Hakeem who lives in Ajman, was born in 2011 with health challenges and, at one stage, needed urgent serious heart surgery.
After his family contacted the authorities in UAE, they were able to have him flown abroad for undergoing the complicated cardiac procedure.
After the surgery, Mohammed returned home and now fully well was able to enjoy his life like all other children of his age .
This contribution given in this very unusual time is his way of expressing gratitude to his country that so willingly came to his aid when he needed it.
This donation is his way of acknowledging that help and arises out his of love towards the nation's leadership and his love for his country when it needs its people to step forward.
In a video taken to mark the donation Mohammed thanked Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the President of UAE, and said that he was able to go to school like other children thanks to the UAE. He also expressed a wish to meet Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, saying that he really loves them from the bottom of his heart.
