A 100-year-old Emirati woman has joined the ranks of those who are fighting the pandemic in the UAE by taking the free Covid-19 vaccine.

Sabha Salem Hamdan Al Diri received her first shot at the Al Quaa Healthcare Center, run by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha).

“It was so easy, and I have no complaints,” Sabha, who is based in Al Ain, said after being jabbed for the first time.

“I would like to take the chance and thank our prudent leadership for making the Covid-19 vaccine available to everybody,” she added.

Sabha pointed out that the specialists concerned first examined her medical condition to ensure that she could safely take the vaccine.

“Everything was fine, and I was eligible and fit to take the first dose,” she said.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Friday reported that as many as 2,339,073 Covid-19 doses have been administered across the UAE to date.

These include 93,004 new vaccines given on Friday, January 22.
