Salons and beauty centres in Sharjah will expand their services to customers with strong preventive and precautionary measures, a municipality official has said.
Salons can now provide services including shaving, trimming the beard and other services except spa, massage, and Moroccan bath.
Sheikha Shaza Al Mualla, assistant director-general for public health and central laboratories at the Sharjah Municipality, said the civic body had sent circulars regarding this updates in both Arabic and English to all salons. "Inspectors from the Health Control Department clarify these measures and explain them to the workers in those facilities," she added.
Al Mualla said that the municipality is keen to provide its services in accordance with the best standards and in a manner that preserves the health and safety of the public.
Dr Amal Al Shamsi, director of Public Health at the municipality, said salons are instructed to continue limiting their customers to 50 per cent of the capacity and measuring temperatures of workers periodically. Temperature of customers should be checked before they enter the facility.
The customers who show symptoms of cold and flu should not be allowed in the salons. Al Shamsi noted that the inspection teams are intensifying their field visits to ensure that salons adhere to the preventive procedures.
