Abu Dhabi - Earlier, the ministry had advised that only those having flu symptoms wear the masks.
Dr Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson for the health sector in the UAE, said this as she addressed a virtual Press briefing on Saturday.
"Based on our continuous follow-up with latest studies and international recommendations, we affirm that a number of people can contract the virus without showing any symptoms and can infect others. Therefore, we recommend that everyone should wear masks when going out," she said.

The alternative option in the absence of a medical mask is to cover the nose and mouth using paper masks, or home-made masks made of cotton or mixed cotton, making sure to wash them."

With 241 new case of Covid-19, the total number of infections reported in the country now stands at 1,505.
