Under the new guidelines, home visits and family gatherings are banned, with families encouraged to gather online instead. They have also been advised not to exchange or distribute meals between themselves.
Iftar and/or commercial Ramadan tents, whether set up by a family or any other organisation, are also banned as the emirate encourages residents to stay away from gatherings.
Distributing Qurans and other gifts are prohibited in workplaces.
Restaurants are forbidden from distributing suhoor meals inside or in front of their businesses.
However, contracted restaurants may distribute iftar meals to labour camps and accommodations by authorised entities only in coordination with the management of each labour camp. These meals must always be kept in special bags or boxes when transported.
The public is urged to pay zakat and/or any donations electronically and report beggars.
Women's prayer rooms, service and health facilities, and prayer rooms on highways shall remain closed.
Tarawih prayers will be held in line with previously issued instructions, which put a maximum limit of 30 minutes on the prayers and allow Quran recitations from smart devices only, banning access to the hard copies of the Quran in mosques.
The guidelines for Qiyaam, the late-night mosque prayers on the last 10 days of Ramadan, shall be decided as per the latest updates of the Covid-19 pandemic nationwide.
The public is urged to comply with and report any violations of the above regulations by calling 901 or 06-7062000.
