More than 100 patrols have been deployed in Ras Al Khaimah to ensure public safety and security throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Maj-Gen Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, General Commander of the RAK Police, said the move was in line with the ongoing preventive measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
"The patrols are deployed across the emirate to ensure public's adherence to restricted movement from 10pm to 6am," Maj-Gen Al Nuaimi said.
Also tasked with raising awareness, the patrols would be reminding people to maintain social distancing in all markets and public facilities, he added.
Wearing masks and gloves is also a must when going out, he pointed out.
"No more than three passengers can be travelling in one vehicle as per the directives of the Ministry of Health and Prevention."
The central operations room is accessible round the clock, he underlined. "Hotline 999 has been dedicated to emergency reports only, while 901 is for non-emergency situations and queries."
"The RAK Police spare no effort to reach out to and communicate with all segments of society wherever they are."
